No Limits 2016

Who:    Grade 11 and 12 high school students 
What:   Senior high-school students get to spend some quality time with leading CPAs from the world of business and have tons of fun in the process 
When:  Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 8:30 am – 1:00 pm 
Where: The Toronto Reference Library, Toronto
How:
  • Each school can submit the names of up to 6 students
  • Educators must be a member of the Teacher Colleague Program to register students
  • Students must first register for the High School Ambassador Program (HAP) to attend No Limits
  • Registration will open October 2016 - $10 per student…space is limited – first come, first served

COIN Competition

Who:    Ontario high school students
What:   75 multiple-choice accounting-related questions and one short answer question written by CPAs - answer them correctly for a chance to win some COIN!
When:  TBA
Where: At locations across Ontario (you will be placed at the location closest to your school)
How:    Registration details for COIN 2017 will be added soon

CPA Showcase Video Competition
 
Who:    Ontario high school students
What:   Students create and share online an original YouTube themed video - “Why the Chartered Professional Accountants are the Leaders of the Business World. The winner of the CPA Showcase video competition will receive $1,000 for him or herself, in addition to $500 for their school's business department. Second place will receive $300 and third place will receive $200.
When:   Entries must be posted on YouTube and the contest entry form must be submitted no later than 11:59 p.m. on March 19, 2017.
How:   
  • The theme must be ‘“Why the Chartered Professional Accountants are the Leaders of the Business World”
  • The video cannot be longer than 2.5 minutes
  • gocpaontario.ca must appear in the video – be creative!
  • Complete contest rules will be available soon

Write to Ignite Essay Competition

Who:    Graduating Ontario high school students with an interest in studying business at the post-secondary level
What:   Submit an essay on how the CPA designation would help you achieve success in the world of business.
First place: $500
Second place: $250
Third Place: $100
When:  Submissions accepted between March 13 and 5 p.m. on May 15, 2017
How:    Entrants must be a member of the High School Ambassador Program (HAP). Entries must be sent via email to tgunaratne@cpaontario.ca. 

CPA InstaChallenge 
 
Who:    Ontario high school students
What:   Upload a picture based on the guidelines and hashtag provided each month for a chance to win a $50 visa gift card.
How: Entrants must be a member of the High School Ambassador Program (HAP)
 

High School Ambassador Program (HAP) Webinar Series

Who:    Ontario high school students 
What:   A series of three webinars to help students make post-secondary decisions, develop their professional image and highlight how to connect with CPA on university/college campuses.
When:  All webinar’s will take place from 4:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. on the following dates:
Webinar #1 – The Professional Image - September 28, 2016
Webinar #2 – Making Post-Secondary Decisions - November 16, 2016
Webinar #3 – CPA on Campus - May 31, 2017
 

Chartered for Finance

Who:     Post-secondary students who want a peek into the world of finance
What:    Get an exclusive look into the inner workings of the field of finance with CPAs who lead the way. Through speakers, workshops and networking, learn how the CPA designation can kick it up a notch when it comes to a career in finance.

Who:     Post-secondary students 
What:    Networking series where post-secondary students can explore accounting firms and organizations

MAP to Success Mentorship Program

Who:     Post-secondary students 
What:    Fifteen CPA mentors from various industries, backgrounds and regions have been selected to lead and advise fifteen lucky post-secondary students. 
When:   Application due October 14, 2016

Road to the CPA Webinar Series

Who:    Ontario high school and post-secondary students 
What:   This Webinar series is your chance to hear from three individuals at different stages in their CPA career: CPA student, newly graduated CPA and an experienced CPA. 
When:  1st Webinar - Wednesday, October 12, 2016 -11 a.m. – 12 p.m.

 

New Venture Challenge 

Who:    Post-secondary students 
What:   Pitch your existing business idea or new business idea for your chance to win a cash prize and a shadow day with an entrepreneurial CPA.
