CPA Prerequisite Education Program (CPA PREP)
For aspiring accountants with an undergraduate or graduate degree but lacking some or all of the prerequisites required for admission to the CPA PEP, the CPA PREP provides a condensed, accelerated bridging program that allows you to gain the prerequisite specific subject area coverage needed for admission to the CPA PEP.
Delivered on a part-time basis to offer students maximum flexibility and accessibility, CPA PREP Modules are offered through distance or classroom learning. A modularized program, students complete only those Modules they require.
Beginning August 2015, CPA PREP will be offered on a semester system with five semester schedules available each year. Under this system, CPA PREP consists of 14 modules, six non-core modules and eight core-modules.
To determine your place in the CPA program, submit a copy of your post-secondary transcripts (in English) for an assessment.
Currently, it takes 8 weeks to process a transcript and supplementary documentation for domestic applicants and up to 10 weeks for international applicants.
A complete transcript assessment with all required documentation must be submitted 8 weeks prior to any CPA program enrolment deadline to ensure enrolment in a module and /or exam. Once your transcript assessment has been performed, please allow up to 10 business days for processing of complete student registration applications. Applications not submitted within these timelines cannot be guaranteed enrolment.
CPA Ontario has disclosed the specific transcript submission deadlines in the PREP schedule.
An official transcript is preferred for a transcript assessment if you have completed your prerequisite course studies and completed a degree. CPA Ontario will accept a copy of your unofficial transcript (final or interim) for assessment purposes.
An official transcript is due within four months after the start of the first CPA PREP module.
